On Day One (September 11, 2024) of the LSX World Congress USA in Boston, at the Hynes Convention Center, Jukka Muhonen, the President of AllianceXConsulting moderated a panel discussion that focused on driving innovation through fostering strong partnerships between industry, academia and NPOs. An area with much to talk about. The organizers had put together an excellent gallery of industry veterans and discussion flowed from structures and frameworks useful for optimal alliance performance to what makes these types of collaborations especially strong and how complimentary resources, expertise and perspectives can contribute to innovation. Not surprisingly, trust and (appropriate level of) transparency were mentioned as being some of the key to optimal partnership performance. Collaboration success was mentioned to be reflected in new partnerships being formed by the different collaborators. As with everything in life, good supply (here collaborative attitude and collaborations skills) creates additional demand, i.e. new collaborations projects. The panel was well received (many thanks to the panelists and the attentive audience and in particular the organizing team at LSX) and painted a nice picture on what needs to be in place in terms of attitude and skill sets when the different industry participants convene to work together. Of course, a lot of topics were only touched upon, leaving room for future panels and presentations.

Investival Showcase Conference organized by LSX was held in Miami 10-11 March 2025 and AllianceXConsulting President Jukka Muhonen had the pleasure of moderating a panel around what Early-Stage Biotech Investors are looking for. The panelists (Jenna Aronson from Two Bear Capital, Echo Hindle-Yang from MSQ Ventures and Stacey Seltzer from Pontiva Healthcare Partners) graciously shared from their world of experience, not only on what early stage biotech investors are looking for but also on how to get their attention, how to maximize probability of success when pitching, what to emphasize, etc. The panel was well received by the audience and added great value in a fund raising environment that can only be characterized as challenging.
